Former Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Jarvis Peprah has commended the sacking of Zdravko Lugarusic, claiming it as a timely intervention.
The staunch Kotoko enthusiast bewailed the side’s poor performance in the league and holds that the coach was ultimately to be held responsible for those results.
In an interview with Happy FM’s Anopa Bosuo Sports, the finance expert and astute football administrator asserted that the coach had no direction for the team’s play.
“I’m very happy with Lugarusic’s sack and I think it’s a timely intervention for the club. The team hasn’t been playing well and all boils down to the tactics of the coach,” Peprah said.
“In fact, you could see clearly from yesterday’s game that we didn’t have a good coach. Our striker [Yakubu] was caught off-side on several times and the coach did nothing about it and Christopher Bonney was marauding the left flank of Kotoko’s defense at will and the coach did nothing to salvage the situation.” Jarvis Peprah told Happy FM.
Management of Asante Kotoko sacked Croatian trainer Zdravko Lugarusic on Sunday after eleven games where he won five, drew four and lost two.
The Porcupine maintain their 2nd spot despite the draw with 19 points after 11 games.
