GFA set to announce Dede Ayew as Black Stars new captain

Black Stars deputy captain and Westham United midfielder Andrew Dede Ayew is set to be named Black Stars new skipper, sources close to SportsObama.com has revealed.

There were rumours swirling around the Black Stars camp at the AFCON 2017 in Gabon that Gyan, Ghana captain of the last five years is ‘beefing’ with his deputy Andre Ayew over perceptions that Ayew is angling for the captaincy role.

The brouhaha started when Andre Ayew paid for the air tickets of some players to honour the Nations Cup qualifier against Rwanda following the refusal of the Ministry of Youth and Sports to fund the trip.

Meanwhile, sources have hinted that Dede is set be appointed as Black Stars new captain of the new Black Stars under Kwesi Appiah.

The source again revealed that, the move is the doing of the Ghana Football Association and not the newly appointed coach Kwasi Appiah.

Dede Ayew is currently the deputy captain for Black Stars.
