RB Leipzig seals UEFA Champions League spot

Red Bull Leipzig completed their remarkable rise in world football by booking a place in next season’s UEFA champions league just 8 years into its inception.

The fast improving Bundesliga side dispatched SC Freiburg 4-0 at the Red Bulls Arena to open up an unassailable lead over the fifth place Hertha Berlin.

Formed in 2009 under the fifth wing of German football, Leipzig stunned the global followers of the game with dream promotions in succession before sealing Bundesliga football at the start of the 2016/17 European season.

The under dogs however punched above their limit and expectations with dream slot in European football.

RB Leipzig are currently trailing league leaders Bayern Munich by just 8 points with 5 matches to the end of the season. The Bavarians dropped points on the road to Bayern Leverkussen in a 0-0 stalemate to reduce their lead at the top to just 8 points.

TSG Hoffeinham could follow Bayern and Leipzig into the continental club showdown if they avoid any late collapse with Borussia Dortmund breathing heavily on the fourth spot.
