A Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, says it is unfortunate for Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to do politics on Easter Monday.
According to Mr Anyidoho, by his action, Dr Bawumia has disturbed Christians in solemnly observing the day after Jesus Christ’s resurrection as such.
The Vice President had earlier in the day addressed a town hall meeting to mark 100 days of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s government, which he is a chief part of. The meeting was put together by Accra-based Joy FM.
Speaking on TV3’s News 360 in an effort to have him respond to some of the issues – mainly achievements – mentioned by the Vice President, the former presidential spokesperson rather questioned why the economist will go on a “skewed” platform to do politics.
The day was wrong, Mr Anyidoho, insisted and the media house is skewed. He wondered why Dr Bawumia would not even wait until the next day, which is a working day, to do politics.
The NDC Deputy General Secretary descended heavily on the 100-day performance of the government, describing the period as having been used to nurture terrorists.
He explained that pro-New Patriotic Party vigilante groups such as Delta Force and Invisible Forces have been fed by the current government. Little wonder their nation-wrecking actions of late, he noted.
Meanwhile, Dr Bawumia in his remarks at the Joy FM event stated that he didn’t want to attend the event.
He said he had wondered what might have influenced him to accept the invitation in the first place.
The event marked exactly 100 days since Dr Bawumia was sworn in as Vice President of Ghana.
