Born from a humble family in Accra Ghana and made his big breakthrough in soccer for Ghana and Africa, Kwame Ayew has won many hearts of football lovers and has since used sports as a tool to transform the lives of many.
“My vision was to become a medical doctor” he said.
“Two gentlemen came to me with a proposal after seeing me play soccer with my School – Ghana Secondary School , Tamale” he added.
He acknowledged how many got to know him when he broke into the international scenes when he was maturing in the game.
“my senior brother had already made his name through the game, so many people wanted to know who I was and all that ” he said.
“People started hearing from me all over Africa, because of my senior brother Abedi Ayew Pele, who had made it in soccer at the time” he acknowledged.
“People wanted to see me.Is he as good as his brother?”people enquired he said.
In Barcelona 1992, the Olympics game exposed him to the world with his fantastic finish on the ball, dribble ability and striking prowess scoring from different angle placing 2nd in the top scorers chat.
He was part of the first African team to win a medal in soccer at the Olympics.
He explained why he begun the work of God. “I wasn’t born to play football but for football to take me to a different level in life ” he said.
He acknowledged how he uses the sports to preach the word of God. “Football is like a magnet that attracts people to hear the word of God”he added.
“I registered a church which is an NGO at the same time doing charitable works”he said.
The one time 2nd top scorer in Olympics is now building a church.
“JESUS IS LORD WORLD WIDE MINISTRATIONS” name of the Church.
He advised that, people need to persevere, with dedication no matter where one came from,and with God Lord at ones side, you can make it.
He has adopted six children and who through his humble initiative making tremendous impact to their lives.
Meanwhile, Kwame Ayew has his three nephews playing active soccer: Andre Dede Ayew, Jordan Morgan Ayew and Rahim Ayew.
