GFA TO SUPPORT UG SOCCER LEAGUE

The University of Ghana Sports Directorate Soccer League which gain massive attention in the sports fraternity in Ghana in 2012/2013 League season under the auspices of the former Vice Chancellor Prof.Ernest Aryeetey and the Director of Sports Dr. Bella Bello Bitugu,the UG Soccer League will be supported massively by the Ghana Football Association.
As part of the mission to unearth and develop grassroot football in Ghana, the Ghana Football Association will be supporting the 2016/2017 UG Soccer League.
Speaking to the Chief Organizer at the UG Sports Directorate, Mr.Rahman, he confirmed that the league will receive massive boost especially for Ghana Football Association coming onboard to support the game. “GFA will be supporting this year’s UG Soccer league which is a big boost to the game in Ghana” he said.




He added that, the UG Soccer League which was supposed to commence on Friday 16th September 2016, has been rescheduled to 4th October 2016 due to the absence of some officials whose presence are needed not only in the grand opening ceremony but for the entire soccer league.

Meanwhile, UG Basketball league is set to start Friday 16th September 2016.
University of Ghana remains the first institution to promote University Sports League in the country.
It still remains the only University in West Africa to have 16 Halls participating actively in Sports League.
