Former Ghanaian football international, Alhaji Mohammed Polo popularly known as “Dribbling Magician” has disclosed the recent seemingly decline of the senior national team, the Black Stars is spiritually motivated.
The four times Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) champions have failed to add up to the numbers since the last triumph in 1982.
The team failed to progress beyond the semi final at the recent AFCON in Gabon and this compounded with previous failures might tow the path outlined by the Ghanaian football legend.
Polo speaking as a guest on Class FM show, Sports World passionately mentioned the chronicle of the teams perennial fall has got nothing but spiritual backing.
“I have said it before, that there is some sort of a spiritual connotation to the Black Stars challenges. As you remember our infamous world cup fiasco in Brazil – the money issues and the disciplinary challenges that faced the team – is not normal though it is becoming the norm of the day,” Polo said.
Ghana is likely to miss out on qualification to the World Cup in Russia (2018).
