Sokoo Hemaa unveiled as ambassador for Orphanage Homes Soccer Competition

Controversial TV and Radio Presenter, Sokoo Hemaa has been outdoored as the ambassador of the Orphanage home soccer competition.

The maiden edition of the Orphanage League themed “Let’s Play to change tomorrow”, was launched on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM where the mid-morning show host Sokoo Hemaa was introduced as this year’s Ambassador.

Sokoo Hemaa expressed excitement about this honour and pledged to raise the needed awareness for the event as well as encourage other corporate bodies and her loyal listeners to contribute towards the initiative.

The aim for the soccer fest is to provide a unique and exciting experience for children of selected care homes through an experience of soccer, and exciting local games, rhythms of music and events guaranteed to provide a fun packed holiday on the Africa Union Day.

The Orphanage League is happening at the spectacular Astro Turf of Wembley Sports Complex, Kotobabi, on the 25th of May, 2017 among five (5) care homes.




Participants from homes including; Save them young mission from Gulf city, Bethlehem in Ashaiman, Potters Village in Dodowa, J’ann Royal Children’s home in Medie – Upper town, New life children’s home – nungua barrier and the Great Mission International – Teshie will all to engage in a tournament to battle out for cash prizes, trophies and souvenirs from sponsors.

The Founders of Empress Multimedia and organisers of this initiative Michael Boakye-Yiadom and Roselyn Naa Dowuona reiterated that the key objectives of this initiative is to raise funds to register over 300 children of the selected care homes on the NHI Scheme and also to provide funds for a GHC 10,000 scholarship for a child who emerges the winner from an essay competition that will be organised among the orphanage homes.

The initiative which has already gained very significant support from corporate bodies such as Royal Crown Packaging and Rainbow Radio 87.5FM will bring together other corporate bodies, celebrities, children and individuals who embark on various philanthropic endeavours to the one-day, fun-packed soccer fest.

Access to the event is free but a donation at the event entrance would be encouraged to support the initiative.
