The Ghana Football Association have confirmed Ibrahim Tanko as the first assistant of Kwesi Appiah as they make alternations to the backroom staff of the Black Stars.
The former Ghana striker who had a stint as assistant to Thomas Finke at Cameroon enriches the technical team with his great tactical knowledge and great understanding of new technology being introduced into football.
Kwesi Appiah’s assistant in his first reign, Maxwell Konadu, is maintained albeit in a second assistant role.
Two former players who helped Ghana qualify and participate in their first World Cup, Stephen Appiah and Richard Kingson are the other new additions to the technical team
Appiah assumes a new role as a technical coordinator while Richard Kingson takes the places of Nassamu Yakubu as the goalkeepers’ trainer.
Chris Adomako replaces Adam Baba as team doctor while video analyst Michael Okyere and equipment officer Ismail Hamidu maintain their positions. In addition to the equipment officer, Hamidu will double as the welfare officer
The backroom staff is rich with international experience as they look to help the Black Stars return to the pinnacle of African football.
