Accra Poly stops students from writing exams

Over 300 students of the Accra Technical University have been prevented from taking part in the end of semester exams for failing to pay a 100 Ghana cedis penalty for the late payment of their fees.
According to the angry students, the school authorities have refused to heed to their pleas and allow them write the exams since it is their final second year exam.
Some of the students who spoke to Starrfmonline.com stated that due to their failure to pay their fees on time, they were hit with a penalty of 100 Ghana cedis.

However, the school authorities set Thursday, 25 May, 2017, as the deadline for payment of the penalty but most students failed to pay since the day was a public holiday.
According to one of the students, the school authorities have also refused to receive cash and have asked all students affected to defer their course.
Students affected by the decision were seen crying Monday morning as they were turned away from the exam hall.
The angry students described the decision by the authorities as a diabolical attempt to frustrate them.
Several attempts to get a response from the management of the school have proved futile.
