U-17 AFCON Final: Mali defend trophy

Mali have successfully defended their CAF U-17 Trophy after recording a 1-0 win over Ghana in the final game on Sunday at the Stade de Libreville.
Mamadou Samake scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot after Ghana defender John Otu had brought down Mali attacker Facinet Doss Soumah in the penalty.
Mali looked the better side as they created most of the chances in the game.

The defending Champions could have been two goals up before the break after Facinet Doss Soumah fluffed a golden opportunity in the 43rd minute.
Ghana’s Gabriel Levy failed to get the Black Starlets on level pegging after he shot wide having found his way into the penalty box.
Mali thus wins their second successive title joining the likes of Ghana, Nigeria and Gambia as the only African side’s to have won the competition on two occasions
