Parliament to invite Ofori Atta over 2.2bn bond

The Minority in parliament will later today file a motion to compel finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta to appear before the House to answer questions over the controversial 2.2 billion dollars bond.
The Minority has maintained the deal was shrouded in secrecy accusing the minister of conflict of interest.
CHRAJ is currently investigating the allegation of wrongdoing in the issuance of the bond against Mr. Ofori Atta after a petition by a member of the NDC.

Muntaka Mubarak, Minority chief whip said the half hour motion to be moved by the minority leader is to afford the house the opportunity to debate the matter and subsequently seek answers from the finance minister.
“We’ve had a gentleman agreement to move a half hour motion to get the finance minister to answer the questions that is on our minds, what are the issues around it, how was it disbursed and procured. The half hour motion will provide all of us the opportunity to debate it in Parliament”.
