Man lynched for allegedly stealing a mobile phone

A man believed to be in his 40s has been lynched to death at Mbrom, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

Residents in the area largely suspect the deceased was lynched over phone theft.

The dastardly act comes days after a similar incident at Denkyira Boase in the Central region where an Army Officer, late Captain Maxwell Mahama was murdered by locals who reports say was mistaken for an armed robber.

The Manhyia Police Commander Chief Superintendent Kwaku Buah in an interaction with the media condemned the act of instant justice cautioning Ghanaians to desist from taking the law into their own hands.

Chief Superintendent Kwaku Buah urged Ghanaians to have faith in the police service.

However the Assembly Man for K.O Electoral area Hon Alexander Kesse wants the police service to respond promptly to emergency calls to help reduce murder cases.
