Hajj services has been enhanced – Veep

DR Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice-President, has said government has put in place the requisite interventions to help make this year’s Hajj more comfortable to prospective pilgrims.

The interventions, he said, would include feeding of pilgrims at Jeddah and transportation of pilgrims from their settlement to the airport.
He said as part of the package, text messages would be sent to interested pilgrims on prospective flight arrangements and this is besides publications in the dailies to provide relevant information on the pilgrimage.
Dr Bawumia said this when he visited three districts: Ahanta West, Shama and Sekondi/Takoradi within the Western Region to interact with the Muslim community and express gratitude for their support in the past election.
The visit to the Western Region was part of the Vice-President’s three-day tour.

“The NPP government is committed to making Haji a ‘wahala-free’ one”, he said, adding that government has also allocated Ghc219 million in the budget for the development of the various Zongo communities in the country.
Dr. Bawumia said unity is core to development and called for peace and brotherliness in the society.
The Vice-President asked Muslim communities to continue to pray for the country and the President to enable him fulfil all policies that would speed up the development of the country.
He presented assorted dairy products to his audience as we are in the month of Ramadan.
