Tepa Nursing school scandal: Principal blows GHȻ29k on Accra trip

Documents intercepted from the Tepa Nursing and Midwifery College have revealed that the principal Ms Victoria Amoah draws five times more than her normal fuel allocation.
Ministry of Health payment vouchers sighted by Ultimate FM revealed that Ms. Amoah, spent a whopping GHS29, 150 as travel expenses for herself and her driver. The figure excludes the cost of fuel for three official trips to Accra.
A journey to Accra by Ms Amoah and her driver on January 5, 2016, for some scratch cards for the institution cost GHC19, 450 with the exclusion of fuel cost.
Another payment voucher, sighted by Ultimate FM, revealed that expenses for a similar day’s journey to Accra by the Principal on January 13, 2016, cost GHS6, 700 without fuel.
Fuel vouchers intercepted by Ultimate News also showed that Ms Amoah and the College accountant Mr. Asamoah together draw 240 gallons of fuel at the expense of the state every month from Star Oil Company.
This contradicts a document sighted in the course of investigations, which showed that the Principal is entitled to a monthly fuel allocation of 20 gallons while the Vice-Principal is entitled to seven gallons and five gallons for the accountant.

In the month of February the principal alone took 160 gallons of fuel instead of 20 gallons while the accountant who is supposed to take five gallons also took 68 gallons of fuel.
The principal is already under investigations for her part in an alleged GHȻ9, 247,800 fraud at the Tepa Nursing College.
The principal and his accountant allegedly used fake receipts and invoices to milk the government institution during every admission year.
The alleged corrupt practice began in 2011 two years after the college was established. A deep throat source within the management of the school and a teaching staff confirmed the corrupt practices of the two administrators with documents to back their claims.
The Health Ministry has confirmed that investigations have commenced into the activities of the principal and his accountant.
