Scrap ineffective political parties – MP to EC

The Member of Parliament for Jaman North, Siaka Stevens in the Brong Ahafo region has charged the Electoral Commission to scrap all ineffective political parties from its database

According to him, the Electoral Commission must be blamed for the numerous unqualified political parties in the country. He was speaking on ATV.

All the other panelists who were on the show unanimously agreed that the law guiding the electoral process and formation of political party must be amended.

The 2016 Progressive People’s Party’s (PPP’s) parliamentary candidate for the Komenda Edina Eguafo Abirem (KEEA) constituency, John Sterlin accused the electoral commission for being inefficient.

He urged the EC to be more proactive and not only be seen during election periods.

For his part, the NDC Communicator Kwaku Asare said the electoral commission is scared of legal suits hence its posture.
