I have a spiritual father who fortifies and prays for me before I play – Asamoah Gyan

Captain of Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan has said he consults Mallams and Pastors prior to every football match he has played in his life.

According to him, football is a spiritual game and one needs spiritual fortification before he engages in any game.

Asamoah Gyan who made this revelation in an interview with delay said “You can’t just rise up and say you’re going to play football because it is a spiritual exercise. You will need spiritual fortitude before play and it’s not just for football but every other work”.




He noted that ‘Mallams’ are just like pastors but in the Islamic religion and as such there was nothing wrong with consulting them to pray for an individual.

He admitted that he has a spiritual father who fortifies and prays for him before he sets off to play a football game.

Asamoah Gyan’s confirmation that he consults spiritualists before his game is a confirmation of the fact that African footballers use ‘African Magic’ in their games.
