Where Wayne Rooney will be playing his football next season remains anyone’s guess, but England’s all-time top scorer has shown his determination to prove his worth at Manchester United by starting pre-season training early, the ​Daily Mail reported.

After 13 medal-laden years, the 31-year-old was thought to be considering an Old Trafford exit, having seen his first team football markedly reduced under new boss Jose Mourinho.
But reports claim that the striker is already back in the UK and getting into shape for the new campaign, despite United not heading on their pre-season tour until July 9.

However, United fans were given a fresh hint that Rooney will stay at the Red Devils, after he starred in the club’s official Facebook launch of their new black away kit alongside Jesse Lingard, Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera.

Reds fans saw it as a sign their club’s record goalscorer would be staying at the the side that made him a Premier League legend past the summer, with a delighted first comment reading simply: “Rooney is back.”
