The board chairman of COCOBOD Hackman Owusu-Agyemang has revealed that the salary of the current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, Joseph Boahen Aidoo is twice that of president Akufo-Addo.
This is after he bemoaned what he described as “outrageous” the amount paid the former CEO of the state-owned company Dr. Steven Opuni – who was said to be earning a whopping GHS70, 000 monthly salary.
He thus announced in March during an interview on Morning Starr that the new CEO’s salary will be slashed by 50 percent. Nevertheless, the CEO’s is twice that of the Commander in Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces.
“…Reducing it to what we thought for the time being we should reduce it to, that still make the Chief Executive’s [salary] more than twice that of the president,” the former Foreign Affairs Minister disclosed in an exclusive interview Wednesday with Starr News’ Ibrahim Alhassan.
The president is currently on a Gh¢22, 000 monthly salary.
