Eid al-Fitr celebration: Samira Bawumia, Dede Ayew spotted at Independence Square

Yesterday, Muslims all over the world celebrated the Eid al-Fitr festival, which marks the end of the Islamic fasting month of Ramadan.

In the capital city of Ghana, Accra, the president with other dignitaries joined our Muslim brothers and sisters to mark the big day at the Independence Square.




Spotted among the many that thronged the prayer grounds was the West Ham United and Black Stars forward Andrew Ayew with Samira Bawumia.

“Eid Mubarak to all Moslems. May Allah accept our prayers and bless our homeland Ghana”, the second lady captioned the picture posted on her social media page.

The Holiday which marks an end of fasting month is characterized by prayers followed by feasts and visits to family and friends.
