A board member of Accra Great Olympics, Fred Pappoe, has admitted that the club was unfair to Godwin Attram in the appointment of a new coach, Tom Strand.
Attram who doubled as a player coach for the Dade Boys was relegated to the post of an assistant coach role following the appointment of the former Medeama SC trainer as the new manager.
“Attram himself was not totally against the decision to strengthen the technical team, no,” Pappoe said.
He added: “He made a strong presentation to us [Board members] that if we can get somebody strong and experienced enough to work with him in whatever capacity, he thought it was going to be okay.”
He remarked that “the only difficulty came maybe with the way we as a Board introduced Tom to him, maybe it did not go down well with him [Attram] at the time.”
He later described the former Ghana international as “very loyal” to the club since age 14 when he joined the team and in the mid-nineties as well.
Pappoe insists that Attram has served the club for a very long time and deserved a better treatment.
