Alvaro Morata to Man Utd: Deal is moving and Real Madrid are in talks over fee

Real president Florentino Perez tried to deny the two clubs were discussing a deal for the Spanish striker last night.

He said: “I believe we are not negotiating with Manchester United, which does not mean that there are not people around him who are talking, which is normal.

“I have read that we have reached an agreement for I don’t know how many million Euros, but it is not true.”
But sources close to the player insist the move is still moving – albeit slowly, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The MEN add that the two clubs are trying to agree fee but there had been little new progress in the last two weeks.

Jose Mourinho is a big Morata fan. In fact it was he who handed the Spaniard his Real debut back in 2010.

Morata didn’t hit top gear at the Bernabeu and in 2015 he was sold to Juventus.

However, after an impressive year in Italy he was brought back to the club as Real exploited a clause in his contract.
He started 19 games last season, scoring 20 goals, but is still behind Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale in the pecking order.

And with the 2018 World Cup just 12 months away, Morata wants to be guaranteed regular football to boost his chances of starting for Spain.

Morata will replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Old Trafford.
