La Liga Transfer News: Man Utd want Real Madrid’s Kovacic, Barcelona eye Kondogbia

Jose Mourinho is interested in signing Real Madrid star Mateo Kovacic.

That is according to Spanish outlet Diario Madrista, who claim the Manchester United boss has told club chiefs to sign the Croatia international.

It is said United are willing to double the midfielder’s current wages in a bid to convince him to leave the Bernabeu.

But Zinedine Zidane has no interest in selling Kovacic, who is contracted to the club until the summer of 2021.

Diario Madrista add Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in securing his signature.

Barcelona are considering a move for Inter Milan star Geoffrey Kondogbia, according to reports. The Catalan giants are desperate to bring in new additions in midfielde for next season.

Paris Saint-Germain’s Marco Verratti is their top target, but the Ligue 1 club are refusing to sell him despite the player himself expressing a desire to leave.

Another option is Paulinho, who has a £35m release clause, but Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande are also determined to keep hold of him.

But Goal claim the third option is Inter’s Kodogbia with Barca already making initial contact to see if the France international would be keen on a switch to the Nou Camp.
