Gareth Bale: Real Madrid star open to Man Utd transfer because of Cristiano Ronaldo

REAL MADRID star Gareth Bale will only leave the La Liga and Champions League winners for Manchester United, according to reports in Spain.
Manchester United have long been interested in Bale – even before he signed for Real Madrid in 2013.

Sir Alex Ferguson famously tried to sign him as a youngster during his days at Southampton, only for Tottenham to sign him instead.

And David Moyes attempted to snap him up during his sole summer in charge in 2013, only for Real Madrid to win the race for his signature.

Talk has been rife that Bale could finally make the move to Old Trafford this summer after injuries saw him play just 26 times last term.
And Spanish outlet Don Balon claim United are the only club he is interested in playing for.

It is said that Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain have failed in an effort to lure the Wales international to France.

However, he is not interested in moving to Paris and has instead prioritised a return to England if his Real career ends this summer.

Bale is supposedly tired of playing in the shadow of Cristiano Ronaldo who, despite reaching the twilight years of his career, is showing few signs of waning.
Reports in Spain have previously speculated about the nature of their relationship and it appears the Wales star is growing fed up with being the club’s second main man.

He looks set to remain a Real player for now but a move to United is not to be ruled out.

Despite initially harbouring doubts about Jose Mourinho, the Red Devils have the finances to broker any potential deal.

The report adds that Bale’s future at the club is also under threat from Liverpool and Arsenal target Marco Asensio.
The 21-year-old is a rising star and lit up the recent European Under21s Championships by scoring a hat-trick against Macedonia last month.

Speaking after Real’s Champions League final win over Juventus last month, Bale reaffirmed his desire to stay put.

“As I have said, I am happy here at Madrid,” Bale stressed.

“We are winning trophies and I am happy.”
