Controversial Ghanaian music, Kwame Obeng Asare popularly known as A Plus has declared his intention to contest for the chairmanship at the Gomoa Central branch of the New Patriotic Party.
He disclosed this in a Facebook post on Monday July 2, 2017: “Yesterday I met with some of the hardworking Gomoa Central NPP Executives. At the meeting I informed them about my plan to contest for the constituency chairmanship position in the upcoming election and other future ambitions. Thanks to all those who made it to the meeting. I’m looking forward to meeting with those of you who could not make it very soon.”
During the 2016 elections, the ‘Freedom of Speech’ rapper declared his support for the New Patriotic Party.
According to him, he believed in the ideologies of the party and trusted that Nana Akufo-Addo would be a better president.
A Plus has songs like ‘Freedom of Speech,’ ‘Agye Gonn,’ ‘Aben Bebom,’ ‘Moaye Late,’ ‘Yeekeka,’ ‘Letter to the West,’ among others.
