South African footballer Ntuthuko Radebe has died at the age of 23 following a car accident.
Radebe, who last played his club football for Belgian side KAS Eupen, was involved in the crash near his home.
KAS Eupen revealed the news in a statement on their website.
“The team, the staff, supervisors, all employees and supporters of KAS Eupen lost a good friend,” it read.
“His kindness, his company, his loyalty, his commitment and good humour have earned him great respect.
“Ntuthuko Radebe will forever remain a family member of KAS Eupen.”
Radebe spent five seasons with Eupen after arriving in Belgium in 2012 but made just a handful of appearances last season.
The full-back was on the lookout for a new club with his contract expiring with Eupen this summer.
Radebe has been capped at youth level by South Africa.
