$130m scandal looms at BOST – Sam George

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo-Prampram Sam George has hinted of another scandal at the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company (BOST), even before the dust settles on the contaminated fuel saga at the firm.
“…At BOST there are several other scandals that are brewing over there. We don’t want to muddy the waters. There are loads of scandals [there]. There is a $130million scandal also at BOST,” he disclosed Monday July 10, 2017 on Accra-based Class FM.
He added “products were brought in without the requisite approval from the NPA [National Petroleum Authority] and when NPA stopped the products from being discharged, a call came from the Flagstaff House because the BOST MD [Alfred Obeng Boateng] called somebody at the Flagstaff House and the products [were given] clearance without the NPA’s approval.”




The MD for BOST in recent times has been under heavy criticisms following expose’ that he sanctioned the sale of 5million litres of contaminated fuel to Movenpiina, an unlicensed company operating in the country.
The Minority has since called for his interdiction.
But the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) in a report made public by the Minister of Energy Boakye Agyarko at a news conference last week exonerated the BOST MD of any complicity in the sale of the contaminated product.
The BNI clearance of Mr Obeng Boateng was however met with scorn and rejection from the Minority, IMANI, CDD, OccupyGhana among others.
OccupyGhana, for example, described the report as deficient whilst the Minority argued that it was a gargantuan cover-up.
