The flagbearer for the People’s National Convention (PNC) for the 2016 elections Dr. Edward Mahama has been appointed an ambassador by President Akufo-Addo.
The long-running presidential candidate is henceforth an Ambassador at Large of the republic of Ghana.
An ambassador at Large is an ambassador with special duties not appointed to a particular country.
Other individuals heading outside the country as diplomats include former attorney general Joseph Ayikoi Otoo, who is being sent to Canada, George Ayisi Boateng; South Africa and Mercy Bampoe Addo for Malta.
Others include Salma Francess Mancell-Egala; Turkey, Paul Oko; Egypt, Kwasi Owusu Yeboa; Togo, Miss Sophia Horner-Sam; Netherlands, Mrs Amerleey Olennu; Denmark, Mrs. Elizabeth Salamtu; Namibia, Gen. Francis Adu-Amanfoh; Mali.
In all, 21 ambassadorial positions were announced by the Presidency Monday.
