I refused to attend commissioning of SHS because it was NDC rally – Adwoa Safo

Embattled Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya constituency, Sarah Adwoa Safo says she did not turn out during the commissioning of the controversial Community Senior High School in her constituency because the function was largely an NDC rally.

Political Aide to the Dome-Kwabenya Legislator, Dr. E. Y Boakye said no one could blame Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo for not showing up at the programme since the so called commissioning of the SHS project was purely made an NDC affair coming at a time the nation was preparing for a major polls.

“There has been a back and forth on this particular strand of the argument. You know the day they were commissioning this project, they told us categorically that it was an NDC rally. It was purely an NDC affair which members of their party within the Greater Accra region congregated in the School. The rally was held in the school. This was on the eve of the 2016 elections in December. You can even ask them whether the programme line up the Hon. Member of Parliament’s name was on it. So she had her own reasons not attending the NDC rally.” he told host Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM.

Adwoa Safo who’s also the Deputy Majority Leader in Parliament has been a subject of social media trolling by members of the main opposition-NDC after claiming she[Adwoa Safo] built the Dome-Kwabenya Senior High School and not the esrtwhile John Mahama administration which has taken credit for the project.

According to her, the project was realized through her collaboration with the World Bank.

In a short video that has gone viral on social media, the Legislator is seen bashing the Mahama administration over the project saying the revelation was important for the purpose of reminding her constituents of the NPP government’s unparalleled commitment to the development of the nation.

“When we were in opposition things were tough but we managed to do one or two things that I need to mention, first is this very facility we’re seated in now which is the Secondary school we have here in Dome-Kwabenya. There was no secondary school in this very large constituency. It was through my hardwork that we have this school. It happned that the World Bank which I once worked with was bringing some money into this country for the building of secondary schools for government. I engaged them and they told me if I’m able to get a land with no litigation though my party is not in power they’ll give me one school. NDC built all the secondary schools in their stronghold. We’re the only constituency which is not NDC stronghold that has a secondary school. This should tell you the school is not from government.” Adwoa Safo said.

But the NDC has described her claims as spurious lies and urged her to apologize for peddling such falsehood.
