NPP communicators accuse executives of squandering party cash

New Patriotic Party (NPP) communicators in the Ashanti Region, have accused their leadership of pocketing monies meant to reward members for their contribution towards the 2016 election victory of the party.

The communicators alleged their director in the Ashanti Region, Mr. Kwasi Kyei Danso has allegedly kept an amount of Ten Thousand Ghana cedis supposedly from the presidency through the party to himself.

According to them, the communications director after the 2016 polls received an undisclosed amount of money from the party’s headquarters but none of the members had his/her share of it.

“Prior to the last general elections, our executives from national headquarters gave us some monies to buy credit but Kwasi Kyei pocketed it and we never talked about it because we don’t want Ghanaians to know there are corrupt people in the party”, some angry members alleged on Kumasi-based Fox FM.

“We want to use your platform to tell national the executives that he is a corrupt person who cannot be trusted so they should come and investigate him on every pesewa he has received from the party in our name”, Oga Willie, told Kwaku Kyeremanteng Nkansah on “Eboboba” afternoon political talk show.

“We the serial callers and mainstream communicators met this afternoon [yesterday]. We want him to account for every money he has received I now including this recent Ten Thousand Ghana cedis from party bigwigs…” he fumed in an interview with the station.

“Hon, Collins Owusu Amankwa of Manhyia North gave us Three Thousand Ghana cedis to buy credit. Nana B also gave us money to buy some credit for our daily activities. …we are asking Kwasi Kyei to account for this amount”

“We have gone to him before for accountability earlier but he only gave us cheeky words he has nothing to explain to us and we can take him to the Supreme Court if we want to”, Oga Willie, known and popular serial caller in the region alleged.

“We complained to the regional executives but they told us we are in power so we should not make any noise. …we agreed that NPP is in power but nothing has changed in our lives. We don’t want to do anything that our executives will say it has brought the name of this party into disrepute”.

Meanwhile, the accuser, Kwasi Kyei Danso who was also on a line denied the allegations leveled against him calling the bluff of the communicators.
