Injured Kotoko players discharged from hospital

All the injured Asante Kotoko players, but one have been discharged from the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi after the team bus crashed into a stationary truck at Nkawkaw.
The assistant equipment officer of the club Kofi Asare died on the spot.
The discharged players are Evans Kwaw, Eric Donkor, Saddick Adams, Frank Sarfo Gyamfi, Baba Mahama, Osei Agyeman, Augustine Sefa, Michael Akuffo and Awudu Nafiu.
The team manager, Godwin Abloddey and other officials, have also been discharged.




A player Olenu Ashitey, the coach Steve Pollack, and the driver, Nana Berchie are still on admission at the referral hospital.
“The accident occurred around 9:45pm when the team bus ran into a stationary vehicle. Personnel on the bus are generally fine. Some are however receiving treatment at the Holy Family Hospital, Nkawkaw.
“With great difficulty, Management is entreating supporters of the club and the general public to stay calm and pray for our personnel. A full statement on the incident will be issued in due course,” the club said on its official website during the wee hours of Thursday.
The team was returning to their Kumasi base after a mid-week game against Inter Allies in Accra. They lost 1-0.
