CHELSEA have reportedly agreed a £39.9million move for Tiemoue Bakayoko.
The Monaco midfielder is one of Antonio Conte’s top transfer targets as he looks to bolster his ranks ahead of next season.
Conte has been left frustrated at the club’s lack of activity in the summer window after missing out on Romelu Lukaku, who signed for Manchester United in a deal that could rise to £90m.
Express Sport understands there were fears Bakayoko could also sign for their Premier League rivals.
But French outlet RMC Sport claim Chelsea have won the race to sign the France international.
It is said Chelsea and Monaco came to agreement over a £39.9m fee last night and the transfer is ‘done’.
He will apparently travel to London in the coming hours before undergoing a medical at the club on Friday.
RMC Sport say once he completes the necessary checks he will sign a five-year contract.
The 22-year-old’s arrival is set to trigger the exit of Nemanja Matic, who has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford.
