Manchester United are ready to make a ‘final huge take it or leave it’ offer for Eric Dier.
Jose Mourinho has identified Dier as one of his leading targets this summer, with the United manager keen to add a defensive midfielder to his ranks.
Tottenham are reluctant to part with the England international however, and have rebuffed any interest up to this point.
The Daily Mirror claim that United are willing to test the club’s resolve one final time however, as they are considering lodging another bid.
According to James Nursey, the Old Trafford club will offer £60million for Dier, which would make him the most expensive Englishman of all time.
United have signed two players so far this summer – Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku – for a combined £105.75m, but Mourinho believes their business is only half done.
Nursey writes that: ‘Dier is understood to be keen on the move up north despite only signing a five year contract with Spurs last September worth around £70,000-a-week.’
But with Tottenham having already sold one player to a direct rival, as Kyle Walker completed his move to Manchester City last summer, they are reluctant to do so again.
