Liverpool agree £10m fee with Hull City for left-back Andrew Robertson

Liverpool have agreed a £10m deal with relegated Hull City for Andrew Robertson, meaning the 23-year-old is set to become Jurgen Klopp’s third signing of the season, after Dominic Solanke and Mohamed Salah.

The Scottish international is already booked in for a medical and will then join up with the Liverpool squad after the Premier League trophy in Hong Kong.

In fitting in at left-back, Robertson will solve a long-term problem position for Klopp, who had resorted to playing James Milner there after losing faith in Alberto Moreno.
The German has been impressed with Robertson’s performances for some time, as reported by The Independent in May, and saw him as a prime target for the role.

While Moreno will be allowed leave the club, Liverpool will also press on with their attempts to sign Naby Keita from RB Leipzig, although that will likely take a club-record bid of more than £70m. Klopp also wants to bring in a centre-half.
