The national chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Kofi Portuphy has scolded President Akufo-Addo for not being “on top of issues.”
According to him, President Akufo-Addo could best be described as a “legal alien” because he spends most of his time outside Ghana hence his inability to grasp what is actually happening on the ground.
Addressing the media to assess the six-month-old government of Akufo-Addo, Mr. Portuphy said the president fumbled and failed to answer questions at his maiden media encounter at the Flagstaff House on Tuesday.
“We are not surprised because he spends more time abroad than at home… Akufo-Addo is a legal alien,” Mr. Portuphy stated.
He said Akufo-Addo has failed Ghanaians since there is nothing concrete to prove over the last six months he came to power.
“Where is the Free SHS, where is the one district-one factory, where is the one village and one dam promises and the $1 million promised in Ghana Must Go bag for every constituencies?” Mr. Portuphy queried.
He claimed there is a total breakdown of law and order making it difficult for the Inspector General of Police David Asante-Apeatu to function because of the actions of NPP vigilante groups – Khandar Boys, Delta Forces and Volta Crocodiles.
Mr. Portuphy noted the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government has failed Ghanaians and served notice the situation will worsen by the time the NPP’s first tenure ends.
