Barcelona players think Neymar could leave because he has few friends at the club

BARCELONA players think there’s a real possibility Neymar could leave this summer.
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Neymar has few real friends at the club and he has ‘always been a bit on his own’.
The Brazilian isn’t a bad egg in the dressing room and relationships with his team-mates have been positive.

But the Barcelona squad is said to be one of cliques and Neymar is out on his own after allies including Dani Alves, who has joined Paris Saint-Germain, left the club.

Neymar has a £199million release clause in his Barca contract and there’s talk in Spain that PSG are seriously considering trying to trigger it.

A move there would see Neymar link back up with close pal – and would smash the £89m transfer record.
Marca say talk Neymar could go was brushed aside and treated like a rumour at first – but now Barca are coming to terms with the reality that one of the best players in the world could leave the Nou Camp.

Publicly, however, they are adamant the Brazil superstar is going nowhere with Barcelona president Josep Bartomeu saying yesterday: “He is not on the market.”

Those comments echo those of club vice-president Jordi Mestre and spokesperson Josep Vives, who have both said they are confident Neymar would not leave.

But the facts are that PSG – who are funded by Qatari investors – have the financial clout to get a deal done.
Neymar was linked to a move to PSG last summer with one of his agents saying his father met with the French club twice in June 2016.

A deal fell through though after Neymar decided to stay at Barcelona and signed a five-year extension.

The frontman posted a photo of himself with his dad on Instagram on yesterday and wrote: “You represent ALL my FRIENDS … having you as a friend is one of the best things I have in my life. I love you, Dad!
