My father was abandoned – Silas Yankson

Silas Yankson, a musician, and son of highlife legend, Paapa Yankson, has disclosed his father was abandoned during his latter days.
Asked by Anita Erskine on Starr Drive whether he felt his father was honored enough by Ghanaians, Silas said no one visited his father when he was sick.
“I feel very bad anytime I’m asked about how my father was treated, I feel very very bad because what I needed to see, I didn’t see. This man was so sick and anytime I visited him and I asked if this person has visited him he says no, has this person visited you no, it was that bad; I’m telling you, he was left to his fate, he was abandoned”.

Recounting memories of his father, Silas said his father taught him a lot about music and he will be remembered by all for the good music he produced.
The 72-year-old highlife legend died in his Accra home on Friday, July 21.
The last time Paapa, as he was affectionately called, was seen in public was at the 2017 Vodafone Ghana Music awards where he picked the lifetime achievement award in March this year.
He as popular for songs such as ; Wiase Mu Nsem, Show Your Love, Wo Yere Anaa Wo Maame, and Tena Menkyen.
