I want to know what killed my father – Kofi Mills

Sam Kofi Mills, son of late President John Evans Atta Mills, has disclosed that five years after the death of his father he is yet to know what killed him.
“I still don’t know [the cause of his death], the hospital never gave the family any autopsy report to show that this and this was the cause of why he passed away, so, I don’t think any member of my family will be able to give evidence of how President Mills passed away,” he told journalists at the fifth anniversary ceremony of his father’s demise at the Asomdwee Park on Monday.
Curious to know the cause of death of the former president he noted “…If someone approached me or if some sort of investigation might have to be done to find out, of course I will champion the course because he is my father and I want to know”.
Meanwhile, Samuel Atta Mills – a brother of the late president – has threatened to exhume the body due to the terrible nature of the Asomdwee Park.
Atta Mills, who is the MP for Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abirem (KEEA) in the Central region disclosed this in an interview with Starr News’ Parliamentary Correspondent, Ibrahim Alhassan after a statement on the floor of parliament to mark the late president’s 73rd birthday.

According to him, the park “is nothing to write home about” and the ossuary of his brother is inundated with cracks because of neglect.
“It is so sad what we are doing,” he bemoaned, saying “if it has to come to me to exhume the body and take it to a proper place I am prepared to do it.”
“If the state is not ready to take care of it we would have to advise ourselves,” he threatened.
President Atta Mills died at the 37 Military Hospital on July 24, 2012. It is, however, officially unknown what ailment killed him, leaving many to speculate.
He won the 2008 presidential elections on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), defeating the New Patriotic Party’s candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in a run-off.
Also, he served as Vice-President from 1997 to 2001, under the administration of Jerry John Rawlings.
