Berla Mundi discusses challenges in her media journey

Budding TV personality and presenter, Belinda Addardey popularly known by the industry name Berla Mundi has recounted how a prominent media personality wanted to sleep with her before offering her a job.

The TV presenter, speaking on Tonight starring Andrew Tandoh Adote, indicated that after her stint with the Miss Malaika Beauty Pageant, one of the big names in the media assured her of a job only if she was willing to jump into bed with him. The TV star indicated that during her time before coming into the spot light, the media person was stalling on his promise and when she questioned why it was taking long, she was told she had to take care of his desires in bed first. She added that this was part of the many challenges she had to surmount to emerge as she was currently.

The former beauty pageant recounted that she turned down the request because of her strong will and tenacity to make it on her own by dint of hard work just like most of the female TV personalities. She bemoaned the rate at which young ladies were being cajoled into compromising their bodies before being offered the opportunity to appear on TV.

Berla also indicated that her parents were against her going into full-blown media. She said that they had concerns with the remunerations of a TV presenter as against someone who was working in a bank, she cited. She said that they were also worried that she would grow to lead an unchaste life as that was the normal practice of some female TV presenters.

Berla Mundi has however risen above her challenges and is slowly growing into a force to reckon with in the media. Following the difficulties she had to go through as a young lady, the GH One TV presenter has established a foundation that seeks to equip young ladies who have the utmost desire of appearing on TV.
