NSS apologizes for service personnel beatings

The acting Executive Director of the National Service Scheme Hon. Ussif Mustapha has apologized for the military brutalities meted out to service personnel at the El Wak Sports Stadium.
This year’s registration process for national service personnel turned chaotic at the El-Wak Stadium when the military police stepped in to maintain law and order.
According to some of the personnel, they were assaulted by the uniform men after being asked to form a queue.
The personnel alleged that there was pandemonium in the process of forming the queue again and that resulted in beatings from the security personnel.
Amateur videos are already viral on social media depicting how the service personnel were allegedly maltreated.
In a statement, the management of NSS described the incident as regrettable adding that enough measures have been put in place to ease the congestions.
The statement concluded by calling on all NSS personnel to remain calm and go through the registration process smoothly.
