THOMAS LEMAR is set to become Arsenal’s third summer signing with the Gunners on the brink of agreeing a £45million deal, according to reports.
Arsenal have been locked in talks with Monaco over the transfer of Lemar with the French club desperate to keep hold of their star man.
Monaco originally valued Lemar at £80m and had hoped that fee would put the Gunners off.
But Arsene Wenger has been determined to push a deal through and Lemar’s desire to move to north London has left Monaco with no choice but to sell.
And according to The Sun, there has now been a breakthrough in negotiations that will see Lemar join in a £45m deal.
The report claims Lemar has already agreed his wages and personal terms with the Gunners.
Lemar featured for Monaco in their latest pre-season outing against Benfica but will hope to complete his move to Arsenal before PSG take on the Ligue 1 champions in Morocoo on Saturday.
The Frenchman netted 14 goals in all competitions last term as Monaco pipped Paris Saint-Germain to the title.
Wenger has already added Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette to his ranks with Lemar now set to be his third acquisition.
Considering Arsenal are without Champions League football next season the arrival of Lacazette and soon-to-be Lemar will are major coups for the Emirates club.
Wenger is hoping his new additions and an overhaul in their attack can finally land him a first Premier League tittle since 2004.
