Benzema and Real Madrid have already agreed new deal regardless of Mbappe – report

REAL MADRID are ready to hand Karim Benzema a new contract.
Benzema helped fire Real Madrid to a Champions League and La Liga double last term, scoring 17 goals in all competitions.

But the long-term servant of Los Blancos has seen his future thrown into doubt of late with the Spanish outfit upping their pursuit of Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe.

Eighteen-year-old sensation Mbappe is thought to be keen on a move to the Bernabeu and reports suggest Monaco and Madrid have agreed a deal worth £161million.

There are also suggestions Mbappe won’t sign for the Spanish champions unless one of Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo or Benzema leaves.
Benzema has been tipped as the most likely of the attacking trio to make way.

However, Spanish newspaper Marca claim that isn’t the case and he is set to sign a new deal that takes him to either the end of the 2021 or 2022 season.

His current deal expires in 2019 but Zinedine Zidane doesn’t want to sanction his exit this summer and sees him as part of his plans for the foreseeable future.
Marca claim both parties have already agreed to his renewal taking place imminently.

And even though Mbappe’s seemingly impending arrival would cause Zidane problems in rotating his attacking stars, it is something the Madrid boss is willing to work with to make a success of it.

Benzema is about to enter his ninth season at the Bernabeu, having joined from Lyon in 2009.

The 29-year-old boasts two La Liga titles and three Champions Leagues to his name during that time.
