CHAN Black Stars coach, Maxwell Konadu has dismissed fears by Burkina Faso football enthusiasts, that the 2018 CHAN qualifier against our Northern neighbours on August 11 will be a difficult match for the team, at the Stade du 4-Août in Ouagadougou.
The Black Stars defeated the Hawks of Togo by 2-1 in a friendly in Lome on July 8.
The technical team invited 28-players on Monday and are busy trying to establish a formidable squad for the two-legged CHAN qualifier against Burkina Faso next month.
In all, the team has played eight friendly matches without defeat and have banged in 24 goals and conceded only 6. Two of the games were against the national teams A of Benin and The Gambia respectively but Coach Konadu is confident of a win.
“I think with the way preparation has started we just hope we get the best out of these boys to do magic in Burkina Faso. We are just calling for your support and your prayers” he told Starr Sports.
Countries have been grouped in five zones – West A, West B, Central Zone, Central East and Southern.
Kenya, who fight for qualification from Central East Zone, are hosts of the next championship and thus automatically qualify for the biennial showpiece contested by players based in their home country leagues.
