Gov’t to partner Home Economists to create jobs

The Minister of Employment and Labour Relations Ignatius Baffour Awuah has hinted of plans to collaborate with Home Economists to provide jobs for the teeming unemployed youth in Ghana.
Speaking at the 2017 International Biennial Conference organized by the Ghana Home Economists Association, he said if the nation wants to find a solution to the problem of unemployment in Ghana “then perhaps one of the institutions we should look out for to solve this problem is the Home Economists Association.”

“I support your effort fully and I think you are one of the institutions that I will partner with,” he disclosed.
He thus believed that collaborating with the Home Economists Association brings about the creation of jobs for the jobless.
According to him, “When a nation pays lip service for Home Economics it becomes a recipe for failure as a people.”
“There is therefore no doubt that skills acquired through the study and practice of Home Economics has contributed immensely to the economic empowerment and job creation for the teeming youth in most countries including Ghana,” he added.
