Nemanja Matic to Man Utd: Chelsea star a 'massive hit' for Jose Mourinho - Stewart Robson

Nemanja Matic to Man Utd: Chelsea star a ‘massive hit’ for Jose Mourinho – Stewart Robson

NEMANJA MATIC signing for Manchester United would be a good move for both player and club, according to pundit Stewart Robson.
Matic looks likely to leave Chelsea this summer after being left behind in England for their pre-season tour to China.

The Serbian has attracted interest from Juventus and Inter Milan but reports claim Manchester United are the favourites for his signature.

Chelsea are not overly keen on letting Matic join a direct Premier League rival, especially after they were beaten to the signing of Romelu Lukaku by the Red Devils earlier this month.

The Blues have already signed a replacement for Matic, with Tiemoue Bakayoko joining from Monaco for a fee of around £40million.
Robson believes the 28-year-old is just the type of player United boss Jose Mourinho needs to bring in.

“It would be good business for Matic because he’s not in the Chelsea squad at the moment,” Robson said on ESPN FC.

“I think everybody at Chelsea knows that he wants to leave.
“I think it would be good business for Manchester United because they need another holding midfield player.

“I don’t think (Ander) Herrera wants to play as that holding midfield player.

“Matic is a massive hit for both player and club.”

Matic has made 123 Premier League appearances for Chelsea across two spells at the club.
