I was surprised Macron won – Pujolas

The French Ambassador to Ghana Francois Pujolas has said that he was dazed by the rise of Emmanuel Macron to political stardom.
French voters in May, 2017 elected the unknown Macron politically as their president. He defeated far-right candidate Marine Le Pen wining 66.06percent of validate votes cast. The result is remarkable considering he, a centrist independent, campaigned without a traditional party and with no experience of governing.
Macron’s victory was warmly welcomed by world leaders and EU officials.




Commenting on the historic rise of the 39-year-old to the political limelight on Starr Chat with Bola Ray, Pujolas admitted that he was gobsmacked by the results of the elections.
“I was like many French people…I was surprised really [Emmanuel Macron] because his party was only one year old and himself was rarely into politics,” he said.
Nonetheless, he added that all the French diplomats are happy about the way he is “handling the French diplomacy.”
