Serge Aurier: Is he joining Man Utd? Do Spurs want him? Is he even allowed to play in UK?

SERGE AURIER is being linked with a summer switch to Manchester United – but who is he? And is the move going through?
Express Sport take you through what we know so far.

Who is Serge Aurier?

Serge Aurier is a 24-year-old right-back who plays for Paris Saint-Germain.

He grew up playing for Lens before moving to Toulouse and then PSG. He has played 39 times for the Ivory Coast national side.

However, his international allegiance took some time to be secured.

He also holds a French passport and originally turned down the chance to play for the Ivory Coast.
However, he was called up by manager Sabri Lamouchi in April 2013 and eventually played his first match for his homeland against Gambia later that year.

Aurier has won two Ligue 1 titles at PSG but last year they missed out to Monaco.

Is he joining Manchester United?

According to reports in France, yes. Aurier is said to have agreed personal terms on a £95,000-a-week deal.

French news outlet Paris United claim the 24-year-old has now reached a deal with United which will see him move to Old Trafford on a five-year-contract.

It’s claimed the right-back could make the switch to the Premier League once a fee has been agreed between the two clubs.

Aurier is said to be available because Dani Alves has been brought in as the first-choice right-back.
So does Jose Mourinho want him?

Mourinho hasn’t spoken about Aurier directly but he has alluded to his need for a wideman – although that appears to be up front as opposed to the back.

He said last week: “I would like one player [to be] a midfield player, [that] would give me more options to the balance and the team.

“Another one an attacking player, especially that can play through the wings to give me more attacking options but I never speak about players that belong to other teams.

“I don’t like if any manager comes and would say he would like one of my players, that’s not correct. I would like two more players but probably I only get one.”
