ANTHONY MARTIAL has already agreed to leave Manchester United for Inter Milan amid talk of a transfer for Ivan Perisic.
Manchester United are chasing a move for Croatia international Perisic but Inter are playing hardball.
The Serie A side are holding out for around £48million and want Martial on loan as part of any potential deal.
Jose Mourinho does not entertain the idea of losing the Frenchman and United remain confident they can wrap up a deal for Perisic without having to part with one of their players.
But Italian publication Calcio Mercato claim Martial would be open to a fresh start in Italy and he has already told Inter he will join.
Martial endured a tricky start to the season under Mourinho last term before injuries to the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic saw him given more game time in the latter stages.
In the January transfer window there were reports of Martial trying to push for a move away from Old Trafford that led to Mourinho hitting out at his agent.
“I know he’s a top talent, but he needs to listen to me, not his agent,” Mourinho said at the time.
“He needs to listen to me in training, where I try to improve the players.
“And with Martial, every day I read the newspaper – Martial goes to Sevilla, Martial goes on loan, he’s not happy.
“Martial needs to listen to me. He’s a player with amazing condition to be a top player.”
Mourinho still sees Martial in his plans for next season but Calcio Mercato claim the forward is ready to join Inter.
His desire for a move to the San Siro will be of good news for the Italian outfit but United are adamant they won’t be held to ransom over their pursuit of Perisic.
United and Inter remain in talks over the 28-year-old and Mourinho will hope the situation reaches a conclusion before the Premier League starts next weekend.
