ADNAN JANZAJ wants to prove Jose Mourinho wrong after Manchester United sold the Belgian to Real Sociedad this summer.
Manchester United sent Januzaj on loan to Sunderland last season.
The 22-year-old, who enjoyed a breakthrough start to his United career under David Moyes, was not part of Jose Mourinho’s plans for this term.
United earned £9million from his sale to Spain and the Belgium international is determined to prove his worth.
“Obviously, he is a great trainer but I did not have much of a relationship with him,” Januzaj told MEN Sport.
“I respect him a lot because he is the one who left the door open for me to leave Manchester United.
“What I want now is to prove that I am a good player and that they were wrong to let me go.”
United have spent £130million on new players this summer and are keen to bring in Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan.
Winger Perisic would have to compete with Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata and Ashley Young for a place in Mourinho’s XI.
Januzaj joined Sociedad on 12 July after being left out of United’s pre-season squad for their tour of the USA.
And the Manchester Evening News claim he is not eyeing a comeback at Old Trafford.
