Ghanaian dancehall artiste Samini has revealed he is not deterred by criticisms about his music career.
Some music watchers have argued the artiste’s image and popularity have dipped in recent times following the upsurge of acts such as Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy among others.
Speaking on The Zone with KOD on Friday, the ‘Linda’ hit maker said: “I am not moved because I know what I am here for.”
He added: “I didn’t come for a one hit and gone. So when you know yourself as that pedigree you are prepared to hear hit songs at certain points when you don’t have anything out. And you also know that when you prepare yourself properly there is an audience waiting.”
Born Emmanuel Andrews Samini, he came to fame with his hit song ‘Linda’ and stage name Batman before rebranding.
His genre of music is a melodious mixture of highlife, dancehall, reggae and hip-hop.
